Vellum Labels

Vellum labels offer a high quality smooth matt finish at an affordable price, at the same time they offer excellent print results.  With the labels we supply the manufacturing manufacturing process we only use high quality adhesives and release paper.  Vellum labels are extremely absorbent and is therefore the material of choice for general purpose, over-printing, thermal transfer printing, hand written/general information and barcoding.  The durable nature and the coating of the labels mean that they offer a good, high range scanner readability.

They can be combined with either a permanent, peelable or freezer adhesive.

The adhesive is the part of the label that makes the label stick to an object. There are 3 main types of adhesives available. The adhesive layer is generally applied as an all over coat but can be applied in a pattern where only specific areas are coated with the adhesive.

The type of adhesive required will be determined by the product it will be adhered to, the method in which it will be applied, the conditions/environment where it will be used and what it will be used for.

Permanent adhesive, is a tough adhesive and is the most common adhesive in the self-adhesive label market. It is a permanent adhesive, with a very high tack.  After it has been applied to the product (with reasonable pressure) it will not remove form the application.  It will only be removed through scrapping, washing or by using a solvent based cleaner.  Generally speaking this is best suited to where product information is important and has a shelf life of 12 months, when subjected cool and dry conditions/environments.  Areas where they would ideal would be warehouses, chemical industry, catering, logistics and transportation.  As is has a tough adhesive it also excels in difficult to label surfaces, such as tires, batteries, and lumber.

Peelable adhesive gives an easy removal from the products it has been applied to. The low tack, which still offers durability will be able to be removed from many products, including metal, plastic and fabric.  Unlike the Permanent adhesive these leave no residue.  Once the labels have been removed though, they cannot be re-used.

A peelable adhesive is commonly used in promotional price marking where the label with printed information needs to be peeled from the product with ease. Making it ideal for use in Chemists, Clothing industry, Electrical wholesalers etc.

If you are looking at applying it to glassware, china or crystal, then Ultra-Peelable is the adhesive required.

This adhesive allows a label to be removed from a surface without leaving any residue or without causing any damage. The label can then be applied again in another area and is not limited to the number of times it can be repositioned. Freezer adhesive is best suited to where cold temperature is required for products this adhesive gives excellent adhesion at very low temperatures and also give exceptional tack at room temperature. A freezer adhesive is ideal for food applications in deep freeze environments, where they will not peel off, smudge or tear. They are particularly suited to thermal transfer printing. When at room temperature the adhesive performs with a more semi-permanent bond.  As the temperature decrease the adhesive on the labels becomes permanent and strengthens.  Making it ideal to be used in restaurants, butchers, wholesale, dairy producers, fishmongers, catering, laboratories, medical environments and generally anywhere in below freezing temperatures.  They can be used in moist environments, however, this can be dependent on what they are applied to.
